Product Introduction
Gabion cages are manufactured from high-tensile, low-carbon steel wire with excellent corrosion resistance, or PVC-coated steel wire, mechanically woven into mesh panels. Widely applied for slope greening, spraying protection, and isolation fencing along railways and highways, the woven mesh can be assembled into gabion baskets. These cages deliver anti-scour protection for rivers, dams and coastal ponds, as well as sealing works for reservoirs and watercourses.
Gabion walls have grown increasingly popular for modern construction, landscaping and civil engineering projects. Used in applications ranging from highway slope stabilization to ornamental garden retaining walls, gabion structures are well-regarded for outstanding structural strength, long-term durability and natural aesthetic appeal.
Essentially, a gabion wall consists of wire mesh baskets filled with stones, rock or other sturdy aggregates. Derived from the Italian word gabbione, meaning “large cage”, gabion baskets are normally fabricated using galvanized steel wire mesh. The baskets can be stacked and arranged to form stable retaining walls and protective barriers.
When compared with conventional concrete retaining walls, gabion walls provide multiple distinct benefits: superior water drainage capacity, flexibility to withstand ground displacement, and a more eco-friendly construction solution.
